Description
The French department of Pyrennées Orientales, also known as Northern Catalonia, is a department of the Occitanie region of Souther France, adjacent to the northern Spanish frontier and the Mediterranean Sea. The inland part of the department is surrounded by mountains and hills, among them, the iconic Canigó, with an elevation of 2,784.66 metres (9,136.0 ft). Nature is all over the place, which makes it an ideal spot for running preparation training camps. We have different sorts of accommodation, from bungalows in a campsite to high standard resorts in double rooms. The facilities we run the camps are high standard whatever the sport. Which sport facility will the training sessions take place?
- The sport facility or facilities will be confirmed before the payment of the deposit reservation
Where will the friendly fixtures against local opposition take place?
- They will usually take place at the same sport facility where the training sessions are run. In some cases they may be played at the local opponent’s sport facility
Are there qualified refs and assistants in the friendly fixtures?
- Yes, they are all qualified. The level of the referees and assistants will be according to the level of the teams
Where would a qualified local coach run the training sessions?
- At the facility of your choice depending on its availability
Lodging information
We offer several types of accommodation, from youth hostels in shared rooms to top level resorts and hotels in double and/or single rooms. According to the the budget and needs, our clients can choose one or another from a wide range of lodgements from our portfolio:
YOUTH HOSTELS & CAMPSITE BUNGALLOWS
They are all located near the training facilities and provide dormitory-style accommodation, with shared rooms and bunk beds. Below there are some sample pictures of some of the youth hostels we have used in the past for our trainig camp groups.
HOTELS & APARTHOTELS
They are all located near the training facilities. Rooms are ususlly on a double or triple room basis, whilst single rooms are also available. We have a wide range of this type of lodging for all kind of budgets. Below there are some sample pictures of some of the resorts, aparthotels and hotels we have used in the past for our trainig camp groups:
Which accommodation will we stay in?
- Hotel name will be confirmed 14 days before the beginning of the Camp
Where will the meals be served?
- All meals will be served in the hotel. A varied breakfast buffet, which includes hot and cold dishes, as well as hot and cold drinks. As for lunch and dinner, you can enjoy a wide variety of both hot and cold food from the buffet. Mineral water is included both with lunch and with dinner.
Can I stay in a single room in the hotel?
- Yes, single room supplement is €20.00 per night in three star hotels and €25.00 in four star hotels.
May parents and fans be part of the group?
- Yes. Persons accompanying the teams are allowed to take part as members of the group and have access to all the training sessions and friendly fixtures of the group.
- Price is same for players, coaches, family relatives and fans. Discount applies in the hotel for children 12 years old and younger in the triple/quadruple room with minimum with two adults.
Will the parents and fans stay at the same accommodation?
- Yes. Persons accompanying the teams will stay at the same hotel unless request otherwise. Under request relatives and fans may stay in other hotels of both the same or other category.
- Price is same for family relatives and fans, discount applies in the hotel for children 12 years old and younger in the triple/quadruple room with minimum with two adults.
Are there any discounts for children?
- Discount applies to child 2-12 years old in a triple/quadruple room with minimum two adults: -50% discount.
- In the quadruple room (minimum two adults) both children 2-12 years old will get -50% discount.
- No discounts in twin/double room. Additionally, child under 2 years is free in any room (baby cot).

Important information
Transport
Transfers
We can arrange transfers from and back to your point of departure under request. Transfers from the hotel to the sport facilities are usually not necessary, as in most cases they are walking distances to be covered among 5 and 15 minutes. For those clients that wish to have a mean of transport to move around we can provide it under request.
Which airport should we arrive at?
Barcelona (BCN) or Girona-Costa Brava airport (GRO) are the two nearest airports from the tournament location.
Transfers from the airports to the hotel or the tournament’s venue, depending on the time of arrival and the first scheduled game, and back to the airport after the tournament, are on behalf of each participating team. The tournament’s organization can arrange your transfers to the airport under request to info@basketmon.com
Accommodation and meals
Hotel
To be able to participate in our training camps all the participants must stay in the assigned hotel. Please note that hotel cannot take bookings directly from teams.
Hotel check-in
Please bring passport or id card photocopy for each person, to speed up the check-in procedure in the hotel.
Meals
All the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be served in the hotel buffet style, mineral water is included. All other drinks will be at extra cost.
Hotel rules and regulations
Hotel rules and regulations must be strictly followed.
Guests shall behave appropriately and with discretion at all times, respectful of the hotel environment as well as other guests.
Insurance
All Clubs must have their players insured both on and off the field. Teams are reminded it is their responsibility to ensure players have their European Health Cards and private insurance details with them.
Basketmon will not assume responsibility in case of theft or damage to property, injuries or other actions of the public authorities or organization transport due to strikes.
Clubs are responsible for the participants at the tournament as they are the ones who have registered stating that all the players are physically able for the event.
Basketmon is not responsible for the damages that the participants cause to themselves or to other participants during the competition.

Being exceptionally sunny throughout the year, the region of the Pyrénées-Orientales (Eastern Pyrenees), in France to the north of Catalonia, offers those who love nature and built heritage an infinite variety of things to see: the Mediterranean coast, lined with long beaches of fine sand perfect for sunbathing. The Vermillion Coast, whose picturesque charm has inspired many artists, the high plateau of Cerdanya with its landscapes bathed in light, the Pyrenean heights, including the no less famous peak of Canigou; the walled towns and beautiful villages, whose architectural treasures delight lovers of old buildings… An area full of diverse scenery which offers a variety of pleasures, with the joys of the mountains and the sea.
Due to its geografical position, the region offers a wide range of landscapes. From the mediterranean sea to the hilly mountains of the Pyrenees, there are plenty of villages and towns, each ot them with its own appeal. Sea and mountain, all in one.
