Blanes is located on the south of the Costa Brava, 40 kms south of Girona and 65 kms north of Barcelona.
Blanes has traditionally been a village of fishermen. And, although it still is so (Blanes owns one of the most important fishing docks in Catalonia), since the arrival of the tourism and the demographic rise of the village, it has also become the commercial and services capital of the region, always maintaining a balance between the tourism and the ordinary life of the village and the region.
The beaches and the coves are certainly the village’s most important heritage and what appeals more tourists and visitors during the summer. As a cultural heritage distinguish the botanic garden Mar i Murtra, considered one of the most beautiful in Europe, which was declared as a good of national cultural interest by the Generalitat of Catalonia (regional government of Catalonia).

Ciutat Esportiva de Blanes (Blanes Sports’ City)
Blanes Sports’ City is a sport’s complex with six basketball courts of high level, all of them with FIBA official dimensions. It is, without a doubt, the best Sport Complex in Catalonia for running a basketball tournament with a high volume of teams taking part in it.
Pista verde / Green Court
Four sport courts in one (4 transversal 20x40m courts). Synthetic flooring. 12 locker rooms for players and 4 for referees.
Pista roja / Red Court
Sports court (20x40m). Parquet flooring. 6 changing rooms for players and 4 changing rooms for referees.
Pista azul / Blue Court
Sports court (20x40m). Parquet flooring. 6 changing rooms for players and 4 changing rooms for referees.
MUNICIPAL SPORTS HALL OF TORDERA (PAÏSOS CATALANS)
The town of Tordera and its municipal sports hall serve as our second venue, providing us with two additional transversal courts adapted to FIBA regulations, with the option of a central court if necessary. The flooring is rubber, and the facility is fully equipped, with multiple spacious changing rooms for players and referees. The bleachers, located close to the courts, allow spectators to enjoy the action up close.
PALAFOLLS SPORTS HALL (PALAUET)
In this latest 2024 edition, we are also utilizing the excellent facilities offered by the neighboring town of Palafolls in its sports hall, El Palauet. This modern venue features high-quality parquet flooring and fully equipped changing rooms to meet all athletes’ needs. With its inclusion as the third venue of the tournament, this edition is further enriched, providing participants and spectators with a top-level sports experience.
Accommodation
All the teams will lodge in three star hotels located in Blanes. Theay are all near the beach and at a 10-15 minute walking distance to the city centre and at about 30-40 minute walking distance to the tournament venue (Blanes City Sport Centre). Note that internal bus transfers Hotel-Sport Facility-Hotel to the games are included in the prices.
We also offer accommodation for family relatives and fans. We have rooms blocked in several four star and three star superior hotels in Blanes. The allocation of places will be done in order of registration.
Three Star Hotels (teams):
Three star hotels located in Blanes, very close to the beach and to the old town of the village. All the hotels provide all sorts of services, such as 24H open reception, restaurant , bar, outdoor swimming pool, table games’ room, etc. All the rooms are equipped with their own bathroom, TV, telephone, hitting and air conditioned.
Three star superior and four star hotels (family relatives and fans):
We have an agreement with several three star superior and four star hotels for the tournament dates. They are all located in Blanes and provide services in the room such as TV, Air Conditioner, own bathroom, as well as swimming pool and in some cases other services such as gym, indoor swimming pool and spa, among others.
Which hotel will we stay in?
- All the teams will lodge in three star hotels located in Blanes. Theay are all near the beach and at a 10-15 minute walking distance to the city centre and at about 30-40 minute walking distance to the tournament venue (Blanes City Sport Centre). Note that internal bus transfers Hotel-Sport Facility-Hotel to the games are included in the prices.
- The hotels for the family relatives and fans will be confirmed approximately two weeks before the arrival.
Where will the meals be served?
- All meals will be served in the same hotel where the team is lodged. A varied breakfast buffet, which includes hot and cold dishes, as well as hot and cold drinks. As for lunch and dinner, you can enjoy a wide variety of both hot and cold food from the buffet. Mineral water is included both with lunch and with dinner.
Can I stay in a single room in the hotel?
- Yes, single room supplement is €25.00 per night.
Can we stay extra nights?
- Yes, if the whole group stays extra night(s).
Can the parents and fans stay at the same hotel?
- Yes. Persons accompanying the teams may stay at the same hotel under request. If not requested all the compannions will be lodged in one of the four star or three star superior hotels we have an agreement with.
Are there any discounts for children?
- Discount applies to child 2-12 years old in a triple/quadruple room with minimum two adults: -50% discount.
- In the quadruple room (minimum two adults) both children 2-12 years old will get -50% discount.
- No discounts in twin/double room. Additionally, child under 2 years is free in any room (baby cot).

This is an indicative program. It might change depending on the number of teams taking part in the tournament and the need of the organization to schedule the games for the best smooth running of the tournament.
Games and rules
All the teams will play 4 games and the competition will develop as follows:
FIBA rules will apply in all games, with the following exceptions:
- The first three periods will last 12 minutes and the clock will NOT be stopped. In the free throws the clock will not be stopped either. The clock will only be stopped because of a cause of force majeure and when the referee indicates so. In the fourth period, the clock will not be stopped during the first 10 minutes and during the last 2 minutes the clock will run as in FIBA rules.
- Rest time between the first and the second period and the third and fourth period will last one minute. And rest time between the second and the third period will last three minutes.
- Every team has the right to call a time out during the first two periods. And another time out during the third period and the first 10 minutes of the fourth period. During the last two minutes (FIBA clock) of the fourth period every team may call another time out.
- In cas the game ends in a draw, the overtime will be played under FIBA rules and FIBA clock. The first team to score 3 points will be the winner.
***In case the organization considers so, because of schedule reasons, the games length may be reduced to four periods of 10 minutes (non stopped clock), except for the last two minutes of the fourth period (FIBA clock)***
Game schedule and Competition system
Game schedule and the competition system will be published and sent to the teams two weeks before the start of the tournament. After the registration deadline the tournament’s organization will make the competition system for each category and the game schedule according to two criterias: The number of teams registered in the category and the competitve level of the teams.

Results & Information
All results, rankings, statistics, and related information about the competition can be followed live from any mobile phone or tablet through the tournament’s partner application SWISH by NBN23. Additionally, this information will also be available on the information panels set up by the organization at various points within the sports areas.
Competition Committee
In case any exceptional situation occurs, the competition committee, which will consist of four members of the organization, will make the decision it deems appropriate and will be irrevocable.
Game times
The tems will have to be at the sport’s facility, at least, half an our before their game’s tip off. Game times are very adjusted, so if a team arrives late to play a game it may jeopardize the smooth running of the tournament. In case a team arrives late to a game, unless it is because of a cause of force majeure , the committee of competition reserves the right to give that game for lost to the team that arrives late for the result of 0-2.
Locker rooms
All teams will have a locker room for their matches. The locker rooms are assigned by the sport’s facility staff. In order to know which locker room has been assigned to your team, the group leader will have to ask for it at the information point/facility’s reception.
Trophy presentation
Trophy presentation will take place right after the final games. The tournament’s organization will appreciate all team’s assistance. Every team will receive a trophy.
Teams Behaviour
Any team behaving badly during the competition (protests about referee’s decisions, clashes with rivals or with the organization) can be expelled from the tournament. Team leaders (coaches) will be responsible for the attitude and behaviour of their players towards referees, opponents, public, organisation and facilities.
Important information
Transport
Tournament buses to matches
Each team will have designated times when the bus will pick them up from the hotel, about 1h before your first match and take back to the hotel after each game. You will receive bus times about 1 week before the tournament starts.
Which airport should we arrive at?
Barcelona (BCN) or Girona-Costa Brava airport (GRO) are the two nearest airports from the tournament location.
Transfers from the airports to the hotel or the tournament’s venue, depending on the time of arrival and the first scheduled game, and back to the airport after the tournament, are on behalf of each participating team. The tournament’s organization can arrange your transfers to the airport under request to info@basketmon.com.
Accommodation and meals
Hotel
To be able to participate in the tournament, all the teams have to stay in the tournament hotel. Please note that hotel cannot take bookings directly from teams.
Hotel check-in
Please bring passport or id card photocopy for each person, to speed up the check-in procedure in the hotel.
Meals
All the meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be served in the hotel buffet style, mineral water is included. All other drinks will be at extra cost. All teams will have lunch in the hotel. If you have matches both in the morning and in the evening, the bus will take you to have lunch in the hotel.
Hotel rules and regulations
Hotel rules and regulations must be strictly followed.
Guests shall behave appropriately and with discretion at all times, respectful of the hotel environment as well as other guests.
Health care
Medicalized Ambulance
Throughout the tournament, a medicalized ambulance will be available at the Blanes venue to provide primary assistance in case of emergencies.
Sports Accident Insurance
Additionally, the organization has a policy that covers sports accidents that may occur during the tournament.
Covid-19
If the tournament could not be carried away due to Covid-19 or to any other reasons of force majeure the full amount paid by the teams would be refunded.

(*) In case of wanting a single room, be the main coach or the assistant coach, there is an extra charge of 25.00 €/night.
Disccounts and promotions
- Head Coach free of charge if the team is composed of at least 10 players or more
- -10,00€ per player for those clubs enrolled with 5 or more teams
- Blanes Basketball Cup jersey free of charge for the players of the teams enrolled before 12/31/24! Otherwise it may be bought for €12
The Blanes Baketball Cup jersey is a proper basketball jersey that may be used for training or pick up games. The design is different every year and it is highly demanded by the players.
If it is not acquired through the enrollment of one’s team before 12/31/24 it may be bought for the price of €12 and it must be ordered through the organization of the Blanes Basketball Cup.
Registration
What procedure should be followed to register the teams?
- Request registration by sending an email to: info@basketmon.com
- The organization will respond within one business day
- If there is availability in the requested category/categories:
- Make a first payment of €400 per team as pre-registration and send proof of payment to info@basketmon.com. This amount will be deducted from the final amount to be paid.
- Once this first payment is received, the organization will pre-register the team/teams in the tournament application and the place will be reserved until the final amount to be paid is paid, before Sunday 03/16/25.
- Once the teams have been pre-registered, the organization will provide access via email to the person(s) indicated by the club/team manager to register the players and coaches in each of the pre-registered teams.
- Once the form is submitted, the organization will send an email with instructions for making the first payment of €400.
What is the first payment for?
To secure your spot, a first payment of €400 per team is required as a deposit. This amount will be deducted from the final amount due for participation in Turn 2 of the Blanes Tournament.
Once we receive the first payment, the organization will send an email confirming the reservation of your spot.
When is the deadline for team registration?
- 03/09/2025 or until registrations are full.
Most categories fill up before the registration deadline, so we advise you to confirm your registration and make the reservation payment (€400).
What is the deadline for making the final payment?
- The last day to settle the remaining balance is Sunday, 03/16/2025.
